The trust was originally formed to help the patients of the Baldwin Ward at Leicester Frith Hospital by the provision of a narrow boat for day outings or longer holidays.  This aim is now extended to include elderly, infirm and other needy groups of people, some in care homes  to whom a day spent in the tranquil canal side environment are especially beneficial.

The Trust is a charitable organization staffed by volunteers who offer waterway outings on the Soar navigation for community groups within Leicestershire. The outings offered are generally from 3 hour to  7 hour duration, however we can offer longer outings by prior arrangement.
