With two boats, cruises can be arranged in four possible directions. North or South from Pillings Lock Marina, Quorn aboard Dandelion and North or South from Thurmaston, Leicester aboard St Clare.
For a trip on St Clare you will board in Raynsway Marina at Pinfold Road, Thurmaston. On leaving the marina you can either travel south through Birstall and Belgrave towards Leicester or north through Thurmaston, Syston and Cossington towards Mountsorrel and Barrow.
For a trip on Dandelion you will board at Pillings Lock Marina near Quorn. Travelling north will take you through Loughborough towards Normanton on Soar and Zouch and south will take you through Barrow upon Soar towards Mountsorrel.

The boats are fitted with ramps and lifts for ease of boarding and are designed to take wheel chairs when required. Fully equipped galleys (kitchens) are complete with a gas cooker, fridge, H/C water, cooking utensils, crockery, glasses and cutlery in order to serve passengers. Any drink or food preparation is done by the organisers for their party. All supplies required for drink or food preparation for the trip must be provided by the visiting group leaders.
Volunteer crews operate the boats and locks. With 70ft narrow boats we are limited to a relatively few places where we can turn in order to return to the moorings. This effects the length of time required for a cruise. Please seek guidance on this at the time of booking a trip. If you wish to book a meal at a riverside hostelry instead of self catering, you should allow an exta 1 to 1½ hours in addition to the cruising time.
