St Clare has been upgraded
and refreshed for 2008.She was returned to operational duties in early
May 2008. However a bow thruster problem incurred in late 2007 is
still to be resolved as at June 2008.
The external super-structure was painted after the new engine was
fitted and operational. The Trust agreed to accept a quotation for professional painting by MGM
Boats of Thurmaston, Leicester. See
www.mgmboats.co.uk.
Work started to replace the Perkins engine in
November 2007. A 50hp Beta marine engine was ordered and installed
early in 2008. The new engine
was installed after the engine bay was de-greased, cleaned and painted.
See www.betamarine.co.uk. The
new engine was commissioned in February 2008.

In addition to the upper structure painting the name St Clare was
re-done on the bow by sign writer Kevin Regan from Swadlincote.
The Trust letterhead and logo style were used for side panel lettering
towards the stern. This was done by Sign-Here of Fosse Road,
Leicester.
