The Trust has again been
present at two canal events in 2008. Loughborough canal Festival on
May 3 & 4 and Leicester Riverside Festival on June 7 & 8. As
previously the objective is to introduce the Trust to a wider audience and
to do fund-raising by selling refreshments. Cream teas were on offer
and in Leicester apple pie and cream was also available.

The volunteers
were busy at both events and the takings have boosted Trust funds. A
prize draw was also on offer at the two shows. This was for a group
of family and friends to have a cruise with an on board meal for eight
people.
PRIZE WINNERS
The winners were Mrs Hazel Guyler at the Loughborough Festival and Mrs
Geraldine Ryan at the Leicester Riverside event. It is expected that
the prize meals and outings will be taken sometime in August. The
Guyler party took their cruise and meal on Friday 8 August.
