Illustrated below is a trip undertaken on Dandelion to
Normanton on Soar
The group were from a Care Home in Melton Mowbray and
had their cruise on 11 May 2006, a Gloriously sunny day. The first
picture shows them boarding Dandelion at Bishop Meadow moorings.
Dandelion
was facing south after the previous trip so the boat had to proceed into
Loughborough and turn at the Wharf, in consequence the group went twice
through Loughborough Lock (above) continuing north through Bishop Meadow
lock.
They
had originally intended to picnic on board but decided instead to book a
meal at The Plough in Normanton on Soar. The group had a meal
outside shaded by a gazebo.
During lunch the crew were
busy promoting the Trust !
